Sonic the Hedgehog and DC Comics: A New Crossover Adventure
Sega and Sonic Team recently hosted their annual Sonic Central event, unveiling exciting news about upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog video games, merchandise, and various animated projects. Among the highlights were collaborations with Lego, visual artist Louis De Guzman, and popular games like Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble, Roblox, and Two Point Museum.
A standout announcement was a forthcoming crossover with DC Comics that will feature Sonic the Hedgehog alongside his friends as iconic Justice League characters in a comic book series set to launch in 2025. While specific details remain limited, Ivo Gerscovich from Sega shared that Shadow the Hedgehog will take on Batman’s mantle in this unique series. The lineup of character transformations includes:
- Sonic as The Flash
- Knuckles as Superman
- Amy Rose as Wonder Woman
- Tails as Cyborg
- Silver as Green Lantern
The project is being led by writer Ian Flynn, who has an extensive background with Archie Comics and IDW Publishing’s adaptations of Sonic. Flynn is collaborating with an undisclosed artist to bring this vision to life; hints about this project were first dropped during “Batman Day” celebrations last week.
This exciting crossover will consist of five issues scheduled for release starting March 2025. Additionally, there will be a collected edition available after the individual issues are released. Gerscovich also mentioned that fans can expect more products related to this collaboration—including clothing items, accessories, and toys—extending through 2026.
