Salesforce has recently published the results of its UK AI Readiness Index, indicating that the United Kingdom is poised to lead in the forthcoming era of AI innovation, particularly in what is termed agentic AI.
The report highlights that the UK outpaces its G7 peers regarding AI integration while also identifying key areas for enhancement. These include bolstering support for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), nurturing cross-industry collaborations, and investing in workforce development.
Zahra Bahrololoumi CBE, CEO of Salesforce UKI, remarked: “Agentic AI is transforming enterprise software by facilitating seamless collaboration between humans and agents to enhance customer success.”
She further noted that “the findings from the UK AI Readiness Index affirm that the country possesses both a visionary outlook and a solid infrastructure to emerge as a global leader in AI technology during this third wave of agentic advancements.”
The UK’s Position as an Agentic Leader
The Index reveals significant adoption of artificial intelligence across both public and private sectors within the UK. With a readiness score of 65.5—exceeding the G7 average score of 61.2—the nation is establishing itself as a center for extensive AI initiatives fueled by an innovative culture and sensible regulatory frameworks.
The government has contributed significantly by fostering a secure environment conducive to tech investments. Events like the recent AI Safety Summit at Bletchley Park alongside proactive legislation focused on risk management illustrate Britain’s commitment to addressing vital issues such as transparency and data privacy.
On the business front, industries within the UK have achieved an impressive readiness score of 52—well above G7’s average score of 47.8—with SMEs increasingly prioritizing their adoption strategies for artificial intelligence, thereby strengthening Britain’s competitive edge on an international scale.
Adam Evans, Executive Vice President & General Manager at Salesforce’s AI Platform division, expressed optimism about agentic technology’s future trajectory. He predicts that by 2025 these intelligent agents will become adept at understanding industry-specific challenges while executing meaningful tasks autonomously.
Investment Driving Artificial Intelligence Expansion
Salesforce has pledged $4 billion towards enhancing Britain’s artificial intelligence ecosystem over five years. Since launching its London-based UK AI Centre, Salesforce reports having engaged more than 3,000 stakeholders through training sessions focused on artificial intelligence applications.
Key investment priorities include bridging regulatory differences between Europe’s structured approach and America’s more flexible model while ensuring SMEs have access to necessary resources for effective integration into their operations. Several organizations including Capita, Secret Escapes, Heathrow Airport Group among others have successfully implemented Salesforce’s Agentforce platform resulting in notable productivity gains across their operations.
Adolfo Hernandez CEO at Capita shared his vision stating: “Our aim is transforming recruitment processes into swift autonomous experiences benefiting candidates along with clients alike.”

Similarly Secret Escapes—a luxury travel deal curator—has found autonomous agents indispensable when it comes down personalizing services offered specifically tailored towards their vast European member base numbering around sixty million individuals.
