Jax Taylor Opens Up About His Divorce: A Journey of Reflection and Growth
Jax Taylor is taking full accountability for his actions.
In a recent episode of his podcast, the Bravo star candidly discussed his divorce from Brittany Cartwright after five years of marriage, offering listeners a surprising depth of insight into the situation.
“I know Brittany shared her perspective on our current circumstances in last week’s episode. It has been an incredibly challenging week. Anyone who has experienced a divorce can relate to how tough this process is,” Taylor expressed.
He acknowledged that Brittany initiated the divorce proceedings, stating, “I completely understand her decision and believe it’s what’s best for our family.”
Reflecting on their relationship, he added, “I don’t hold any resentment towards her. Honestly, I’m amazed she stayed with me for as long as she did.”
While Jax had previously been unfaithful to Cartwright during their marriage, there are no indications that infidelity contributed to their current separation.
Brittany also addressed their split during a recent podcast appearance where she remarked about navigating such personal turmoil under public scrutiny: “I never thought I would face something so intimate and painful while everyone was watching. This isn’t meant to elicit sympathy; I recognize this is the life I chose and feel grateful in many aspects. My goal is always to be authentic with you all.”
The couple shares a three-year-old son named Cruz.
“I will always love and care for Brittany; she is the mother of my wonderful son,” Jax stated on September 6. He expressed hope for an amicable relationship moving forward: “My wish is for us to become friends eventually. I know I’m a great father and will strive to be an excellent ex-husband.”
Taylor also opened up about his recent stay at a mental health facility where he received diagnoses of PTSD and bipolar disorder.
“I arrived there feeling extremely resistant,” he admitted. “But then it turned into something positive; I didn’t want to leave at all! The structure was comforting—I had meals at regular times each day and even found time to read.”
He concluded by sharing insights into his mental health journey: “I’ve gained better clarity regarding my struggles lately. I’ve started some effective medication that has made significant improvements in my well-being.”
As he navigates these changes in life, Jax emphasized the importance of focusing on healing before discussing everything publicly: “In due time, I’ll share more openly about my experiences but right now it’s crucial that I manage this transition.”
Brittany’s reflections resonate deeply as well; during her August 30 podcast episode she shared her own journey toward self-empowerment: “It took me years to muster enough courage and strength needed to exit what had become toxic for me while recognizing my own worth.”
She concluded with heartfelt motivation stemming from motherhood: “This process has been incredibly tough but I’m stronger than ever now—my son Cruz deserves nothing less than a happy and healthy mom.”
