AJSU Party Leader Criticizes Jharkhand Government’s Election Tactics
Sudesh Mahto, the leader of the AJSU party, has leveled serious allegations against the Hemant Soren administration, claiming that state resources are being misused to sway voters as Jharkhand approaches its assembly elections. During the ‘Jharkhand Navnirman Sankalp Rally’ at Ranchi’s Prabhat Tara Ground, Mahto expressed his concerns regarding unfulfilled commitments made to both youth and women in the state.
Allegations of Misuse of State Funds
Mahto asserted that the government is strategically deploying its financial resources under various schemes solely to attract voters ahead of the polls. “The timing of these initiatives raises questions about their authenticity,” he stated while addressing a crowd filled with enthusiastic young supporters from across Jharkhand. He emphasized that these programs seem to be rolled out just months before elections, suggesting a lack of genuine concern for public welfare. “If they were truly committed to serving our citizens, these measures would have been introduced much earlier,” he remarked.
Unmet Promises: Jobs and Financial Support
The AJSU chief further criticized the government for failing to deliver on significant promises related to employment and financial assistance for unemployed individuals. He pointed out that despite assurances of unemployment benefits ranging from Rs 5,000 to Rs 7,000 per month for youth, no such payments have been made. Additionally, he called attention to the government’s neglect in executing the ‘Chulha Bhatta’ scheme intended to provide women with a monthly cooking allowance of Rs 2,000.
According to Mahto’s claims, while there was a promise made for five lakh jobs within Jharkhand’s workforce framework, only a fraction has materialized—specifically 1,033 positions through the Jharkhand Public Service Commission and an additional 10,041 via the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission.
Commitment Towards Youth and Women
In light of these grievances against current governance practices in Jharkhand, Mahto assured attendees that if his party aligns with BJP under NDA leadership comes into power post-elections; it will prioritize policies aimed at uplifting all societal segments—especially focusing on youth and women’s welfare.
By highlighting these issues during such rallies leading up to crucial elections reflects not only political strategy but also an urgent call for accountability from those currently in power. The upcoming assembly elections will serve as a litmus test for both parties involved as they seek voter support amidst rising discontent over unmet expectations among constituents.
