Samsung is gearing up to launch the Galaxy M05, which was initially spotted alongside the F05 model in July. Recently, a support page for the M05 has been activated on Samsung India’s official website, indicating that an official announcement could be imminent within weeks.
While the support page does not disclose any technical specifications for the device, it does confirm its model number: SM-M055F/DS. Additionally, the Galaxy M05 has received certification for sale in India from BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards), further hinting at its upcoming release.
The Galaxy M05 will succeed last year’s Galaxy M04 and is expected to occupy a similar entry-level position within Samsung’s lineup. To understand what “entry-level” entails in this context, consider that the previous model featured a 6.5-inch LCD display with a resolution of 720×1600 pixels and a refresh rate of 60 Hz. It was powered by a MediaTek Helio P35 processor and came equipped with 4GB of RAM along with storage options of either 64GB or 128GB. The camera setup included a primary lens of 13 MP paired with a secondary depth sensor of 2 MP, complemented by a front-facing camera capable of capturing selfies at 5 MP. The device also housed a robust battery rated at 5,000 mAh supporting wired charging at up to 15W.
As anticipation builds around this new addition to Samsung’s budget-friendly offerings, consumers are eager to see how it will compare against competitors in this segment as well as its predecessor’s performance metrics once it officially hits the market.
