Motorola Unveils the Moto S50: A New Contender in the Smartphone Market
In June, Motorola introduced the Moto S50 Neo, and today, they have officially launched its standard variant, the Motorola Moto S50. This latest smartphone is equipped with a Dimensity 7300 SoC and operates on Android 14. It boasts an impressive memory configuration of 12GB RAM alongside storage options reaching up to 512GB.
Stunning Display Features
The Moto S50 features a vibrant 6.36-inch LTPO pOLED display that supports a refresh rate of 120Hz. With a resolution of 2,670 x 1,272 pixels and HDR10+ capabilities, this screen can achieve peak brightness levels of up to 3,000 nits. The design includes a centered punch-hole for its front-facing camera—offering an impressive resolution of 32MP—and incorporates an under-display fingerprint sensor for secure access.
Advanced Camera System
On the rear side of the device lies a sophisticated triple-camera arrangement consisting of:
- A primary camera with a resolution of 50MP (Sony IMX896) featuring Optical Image Stabilization (OIS).
- A 13MP ultrawide lens that captures images with an expansive field-of-view at 123°.
- A 10MP telephoto lens, which provides 3x optical zoom, also enhanced by OIS.
This combination allows users to capture high-quality photos across various scenarios.
Powerful Battery Life and Charging Options
The Motorola Moto S50 is powered by a robust 4,310 mAh battery, supporting rapid charging at 68W wired and 15W wireless charging, ensuring you stay connected throughout your day. Additionally, it comes with an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance—making it suitable for various environments.
Interestingly enough, this model shares many specifications with the recently announced Motorola Edge 50 Neo; however, while the Edge variant targets global markets, the Moto S50 is exclusively available in China.
Color Variants and Pricing Details
The new smartphone will be offered in three distinct Pantone-approved colors. It comes in two memory configurations:
- The first option features 12GB RAM/256GB storage, priced at CNY2,199 (approximately $310/€280/INR26,000).
- The second option offers 12GB RAM/512GB storage, retailing at CNY2,499 (around $350/€320/INR29,550).
Consumers can purchase these models directly from Lenovo’s official website tailored for Chinese customers.
